Warren Artz

Psychologist

Warren has helped more than 4,500 people over the last 14 years with psychoeducation, guidance, and support related to their chosen weight loss procedure. He is an experienced bariatric psychologist who works almost exclusively with those struggling with their weight. He believes strongly in setting realistic and achievable weight loss goals; and, he focuses on helping patients take rational behavioural control of their eating and lifestyle habits, whilst adhering to the demands of their weight loss procedure.

Warren is an ex-professional goalkeeper who has travelled the world as a soccer player and coach. He played in South Africa, England, USA, New Zealand, and Australia before becoming an AHPRA registered psychologist in 2008. He has undergraduate and graduate degrees in psychology from both the USA and Australia and has several published articles on the psychology of obesity and weight loss surgery.

Warren is a registered Medicare provider who accepts mental health care plans to support patients on their weight loss journey. He advocates building resilience as the key to achieving any goal. Personal challenges and experience have paved the way for a treatment approach that focuses on strengths, rather than weaknesses, and processes, rather than outcomes.

Warren lives on the Gold Coast with his wife and two children and enjoys swimming, ocean paddling, and golf.
